Keep them focused!

C8Kids was designed by neuroscientists at Yale School of Medicine as a powerful tool to help students with attention problems. C8Kids is a scientifically-based, personalized cognitive intervention that can actually improve brain strength and stamina. Designed by some of the world's foremost experts on the developing human brain, the C8 Sciences cognitive cross-training system provides computer activities and physical exercises that work together to strengthen the brain's core cognitive capacities that underlie the ability to sustain attention. Not surprisingly, students in the program have posted remarkable gains in high stakes reading and math tests.

Game-based cognition training for brain and body

The system is comprised of web-based computer games and optional physical exercises that start off with simple cognitive tasks - like pattern completion, memorization exercises, or category recognition. Those tasks get harder and more complex in response to each student's unique strengths. Each student works through a completely differentiated training program based on their cognitive needs and abilities.

The program is flexible, and can be implemented in 15-to-35 minute sessions, depending on your school's unique scheduling needs. We recommend at least 100 minutes of computer training per week, and the program can be completed in as little as 8 weeks - or extend through the entire school year.

Early Identification of Gifts – or Problems on the Horizon

As students engage with the exercises, the computer creates a cognitive profile on every student, identifying hidden cognitive talents – or uncovering hidden problems, and empowering educators with new insight into how to support each child.

Unique Cognitive Reports Available Only With C8Kids

The program is broken down into four phases - each of which concludes with a specialized report.

  • Preliminary Cognitive Assessment: At the beginning of the program students work through four cognitive assessments designed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), measuring cognitive flexibility, memory, speed and self control.
  • Special Talent Identifiers: Classwide reports reveal cognitive high-flyers and underperformers.
  • Midterm Performance Report: Based on thousands of student responses, find out how your child's progress compares to other students the same age across a variety of executive skills measurements.
  • Comprehensive Cognition Profile: This rich report identifies each student's ranking in each of eight core cognitive capacities, and arms teachers with individualized teaching and support strategies formulated just for that student’s cognition - plus a second round of NIH cognitive tests and shows growth over the span of the training course.
